Recruitment
and Selection
The MacB approach to recruitment and selection is consistent with its commitment
to providing clients with "best practices" HRM and HRD programs and processes.
The focus of the MacB recruitment and selection program and service is on
"transference" whereby the knowledge and skills needed to develop and manage
a fully effective process are developed with the client. Using a comprehensive
model - PRSHO - along with a guide and training program, MacB works with
the client to not only build a "best practices" planning, recruitment, selection,
hiring and orientation process but also the essential knowledge and skills
to make the process work. It is the MacB belief that "one size does not
fit all" and there are no "silver bullets" when it comes to effective recruitment
and selection. Therefore, it is important to develop a process that fits
with the client's needs, is appropriate for their industry and most importantly
represents the "best practices".

"Best Practices" Recruitment and Selection
With anticipated requirements of having to hire 20 thousand employees
in the next ten years, a national council has been directed by its
member to develop "best practices" recruitment and selection tools
for bus operators. Working in conjunction with Palmer and Company,
MacB develops a comprehensive guide, workbook and training program
designed to help the 3000 council members design and implement recruitment
and selection processes that are appropriate for their sector of
the industry and nature of their company.
